Launching Meeting on the Initiative on Integrated Assessment of Trade-Related Policies and Biological Diversity in the Agriculture Sector

On 15 July 2005, UNEP-ETB held a meeting to launch a four-year initiative funded by the European Union entitled, “ Integrated Assessment of Trade-Related Policies and Biological Diversity in the Agriculture Sector .” Approximately 25 representatives from regional and international organizations, NGOs and academic institutions working on trade, agriculture and biological diversity issues convened to share relevant experiences and offer advice on the implementation of the first phases of the initiative, the development of the integrated assessment framework, the creation of biodiversity indicators, and the identification of partners and criteria for the country projects.
