Workshop on the Green Economy Report Rolle,
Switzerland, 28 - 30 April 2009 UNEP organized a hands-on expert workshop, which shaped the outlines for the various chapters and sections of a comprehensive Green Economy Report. This workshop took place from 28 to 30 April 2009, in Rolle, Switzerland. The green economy report is currently organized by the following themes: renewable energy, clean technology and resource efficiency, sustainable transport, cities and buildings, sustainable agriculture, water as an ecological infrastructure, waste management and recycling, forests, and fisheries. Additionally, there will be two separate chapters on enabling conditions and modeling. On 28 April, there were separate group-based discussions on each of these chapters. The institutions that have been approached as potential coordinators of individual chapters led the discussion on the chapter, with a view to benefit from the expertise and input from other participants, in terms of structuring the chapter, defining the outline, reviewing the proposed methodology, and identifying other relevant contributors to the chapter, from around the world. Each sectoral group was encouraged to designate a rapporteur that reported back to the plenary discussion on 29 April. On 29 these discussions pursued in a plenary setting, with a view to allow for cross-fertilization and streamlining of the chapters, with minimum unnecessary redundancy. On 30 April, a final plenary session reviewed the methodology for the whole exercise; discussed the modelling component, editorial guidelines, and future steps in the process of producing the green economy report.
