This Project:

investigates how trade liberalisation under structural adjustment programmes have fostered substantial growth of Uganda's fisheries industry.

examines both the positive and negative impacts of trade liberalisation on economic, social and environmental systems.

and identifies an array of policy mechanisms, including economic instruments, that can be implemented to maintain sustainability of fisheries' resources and ensure their continued economic exploitation.
