Mission Located
in Brussels, the UNEP Brussels liaison office to the EU was established
in April 2001. The main objectives of the Brussels office are to
increase policy
dialogue between UNEP and the EU, to maintain a two-way flow of
information, to initiate and promote the development of joint EU-UNEP
programmes and projects and to stimulate dialogue with other public

Team and its working
groups, such as Climate Change. Another main function is support
to UNEP’s resource mobilization efforts, and service other
UNEP’s divisions in their drafting and reporting of projects
submitted to the EC for funding.
The main objectives of the Office are to:

information on new developments in European environmental
policies and initiatives, maintaining a two-way flow of
information between UNEP and the EU;
Maintain
and activate a network of regular contacts with the EU
institutions and the respective national delegations;
Increase
UNEP's visibility in Brussels;
